OBI 11.1.1.8.1 - nQSError : 62022 Javahost has not been configured correctly. Please check your configuration in NQSConfig.ini.

OBI 11.1.1.8.1 -  nQSError : 62022 Javahost has not been configured correctly. Please check your configuration in NQSConfig.ini.

If you see the error message as above, check the configurations in NQSConfig.ini file under

/sid/admin/instances/sid_mthost/config/OracleBIServerComponent/coreapplication_obis1

Possibly JAVAHOST entry is missing in the file NQSConfig.ini. Add this entry with correct value and verify if you still see this error.

If the issue persists, try reinstalling the BI Admin Tool and configure the JAVAHOST entry in the NQSConfig.ini file. nQSError : 62022 should no longer be seen.

When using BI Admin Tools 11.1.1.7.150120 with Oracle Client 12c & invoking Metadata Importa Wizard to import data from Exadata database, you may see above error message in the OBIEERPD_NQSAdminTool.log file.

On the Metadata Import Wizard screen, steps to Import Metadata

1 - Select Data Source
2 - Select Metadata Types (Select all relevant schema objects tables, views, indexes, etc)
3 - Select Metadata Objects - Here Exadata database is visible in the wizard but no oracle schemas are displayed & therefore import cannot proceed. No error message displayed on BI Admin Tool but the error message above is displayed in NQSAdminTool.log file

If your OBIEE Admin Tool environment is an OBIEE 11g Client Tools only install, required Oracle database client library files may be missing as Client Tools is a minimal install only & may not contain all directories as in full install. There may also be a mismatch in java, Oracle Client & OBIEE installed in your environments. Check if it is 32-bit or 64-bit or mismatch.

You can resolve this issue by

1) Installing Oracle database client software (32-bit or 64-bit depending on version of OBIEE Admin Tool installed). Install only if not already installed.

Once Oracle Client is installed, configure TNSNAMES.ORA entry for your Oracle Database & edit bi_init.bat file under $BI_HOME\bifoundation\server\bin and add TNS_ADMIN variable pointing to location of TNSNAMES.ORA.

2) If you already have Oracle Database 12c Client installed on the Windows machine where OBIEE 11g BI Admin Tools is installed but facing this issue in the Metadata Import Wizard, you can simply copy oracore12.dll as oracore11.dll

OBIEE Admin Tool import will now show all available schemas in step 3 of the Metadata Import Wizard.
