Deploying latest Database Plugin to the OMS and Agent in EM 12C Cloud Control
To deploy the latest database Plug-in on the OMS and the Agent, perform steps as below. Please note, the Admin server should be up and running when deploying plugins to the management server.
a. Acquire the latest database Plug-in software using Self Update
I) Using Online mode:
1. Login to 12C Cloud Control
2. Navigate to Setup --> Extensibility
3. Select the option Self Update
4. In the page displayed, Select Plugins and Click on "Check Updates"
This will execute a job, Once the job is finished, go back to the Self Update Page.
Click on "Plug-in" to navigate to Plugin home page.
5. Choose the Plugin "Oracle Database" and Click on "Download"
II) Using Offline mode:
1. Login to 12C Cloud Control
2. Navigate to Setup --> Extensibility
3. Select the option Self Update
4. In the page displayed, Select Plugins and Click on "Check Updates"
This will give a pop-up with set of emcli commands to download the required updates.
5. Choose the Plugin "Oracle Database" and Click on "Download", this will give a pop up with set of emcli commands to download the software.
b. Deploy the Plug-in to the Management Server
To deploy to the database plugin to OMS,ensure that the required patches are applied to OMS HOME and PLUGIN HOME
Follow the below mentioned steps to deploy plugin to OMS:
1. Login to 12C Cloud Control
2. Navigate to Setup --> Extensibility
3. Select the option Plugins
4. Expand the option "Databases"
5. Select "Oracle Database"
6. Expand the option "Deploy On" and Choose "Management Servers"
7. In the page displayed, provide the SYS user password
8. The deployment performs the following:
Step 1: Following validations are performed:
- Initialize the plugin
- Validate plug-in home
- Check mandatory patches
Once the above three steps are done, Click on next
Step 2: In the Review page, it gives warning as below. Click on "Deploy" to proceed with deployment.
"Plugin-in revision deployment only updates metadata in the repository. Oracle Home updates are not needed."
Step 3: Confirmation message about deployment of database plugin on Management Server.
This will complete the deployment of database plugin to management server.
c. Deploy the Plug-in to the Management Agent
Its a prerequisite to deploy the latest database plugin to OMS before deploying to Agent.
Ensure the plugin deployment to OMS is successful and then perform the following to deploy plugin to agent:
1. Login to 12C Cloud Control
2. Navigate to Setup --> Extensibility
3. Select the option Plugins
4. Expand the option "Databases"
5. Select "Oracle Database"
6. Expand the option "Deploy On" and Choose "Management Agent"
7. In the page displayed, Click on "Add" to add the Agent on which plugin needs to be deployed.
8. After adding the agent name, it will run the prerequisite check, after successful completion of prerequisite check, click on Next.
9. A Confirmation message about deployment of database plugin on Management Agent will be displayed.
This will complete the deployment of database plugin to management agent.

b. Deploy the Plug-in to the Management Server
To deploy to the database plugin to OMS,ensure that the required patches are applied to OMS HOME and PLUGIN HOME

2. Navigate to Setup --> Extensibility
3. Select the option Plugins
4. Expand the option "Databases"
5. Select "Oracle Database"
6. Expand the option "Deploy On" and Choose "Management Servers"
7. In the page displayed, provide the SYS user password
8. The deployment performs the following:
Step 1: Following validations are performed:

8. After adding the agent name, it will run the prerequisite check, after successful completion of prerequisite check, click on Next.
9. A Confirmation message about deployment of database plugin on Management Agent will be displayed.
This will complete the deployment of database plugin to management agent.
